Carl Mitz has over 25 years in Equine Dentistry and is a third generation horseman. He has held State Racing Licenses in Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Arkansas and Florida to provide dental maintenance to racehorses. One of his most well known accomplishments is his research and development of equine dental instruments and techniques for horses of all sizes and purposes. Carl was certified in 1992 by the IAEDT and certified in Advanced Dentistry in 2002 by the IAED. He is a past president of the IAEDT and IAED. He has been published in 2 Veterinary Manuals- Equine Dentistry: A Practical Guide by Pat Pence DVM and The Manual of Equine Dentistry by Tom Allen DVM. He has also been an associate, consultant and volunteer for many organizations, universities and registries to promote the need for qualified dental providers to ensure the betterment and health of the horse. In 2011, he was appointed to the Advisory Committee of the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

Steve Rubin

Steve Rubin IAED/CA has been working full time as an Equine Dental Technician for 33 years. He is a former president of the World Wide Association of Equine Dentistry. He is certified Advanced by the International Association of Equine Dentistry (IAED). Steve was an examiner for the IAED for 8 years and was on the board of directors. He currently works with Carbide Products testing products as they are developed. Steve works with and for veterinarians and maintains strong relationships to benefit horses under his care. He strongly believes Equine Dentistry is best when performed under the supervision of a veterinarian.

Gail Emerson is a graduate of State University of New York receiving a A.A.S. in Animal Husbandry(emphasis horses) in 1975. She has been an equine dental practitioner full time since 1987. Her accomplishments in the field of Equine Dentistry include:

Lance Rubin

Lance Rubin is a certified equine dental provider who has been practicing equine dentistry since 1983. He has apprenticed and mentored several equine dental providers and veterinarians with an interest in equine dentistry. Lance has been instrumental in advancing the equine industry and standard of care for the horse by participating in equine dental research and instrumentation development. He has co-authored an article on rostral profiling and lectures at various colleges and equine organizations on proper equine dentistry and preventive maintenance throughout the horse’s lifespan. Lance also volunteers his time performing dentistry at several horse rescue centers in Illinois.  He was a member since the inception of the IAED including one of the first certifying members, board member, head examiner, certification director and conference planner. Lance continues to advance the equine dental profession forward thru the Equine Dental Providers of America, promoting quality equine dentistry and education. He practices throughout the Midwest. Lance performs full service dentistry from basic to advanced services as needed to maintain proper dental health.
